During the early days of the pandemic, I become obsessed with the music of Porter Robinson. Naturally, I started to arrange some of his songs for fingerstyle guitar.
I grew even more enamoured with the audiovisual spectacle that is Worlds Live - the live show for the “Worlds” album era, where the songs from the album are remixed, extended and made so much more grandiose, paired with thematic visuals and lighting.
I got the idea as I was arranging to try arranging some of the best moments of the Worlds Live show (especially the final Worlds Live show @ Second Sky 2019), and perhaps one day be able to cover and perform the show myself on fingerstyle guitar.
In March 2021, I got the chance to do so, in a slightly condensed set of 30 minutes, at Eon Night, a community live music event night in the Porter Robinson Discord server. The reception was so much more positive and full of love than I could ever have imagined!
I’ve been continuing to work on expanding and improving my acoustic version of the show ever since, and I would adore the opportunity to one day be able to perform it live fully.
The set list included:
- Worlds Live Intro
- Mirror
- Polygon Dust (Live Edit)
- Years of War (Live Edit)
- Divinity (ft. Madeon - Innocence)
- Fresh Static Snow (Live Edit)
